Academic Information
The Humanities curriculum consists of a broad-based and conceptual approach to learning. It involves the study of History, Social Studies as well as Geography. Students are given the to understand and be responsible for the quality of the environment and the desirability of
sustainable development at local, regional and global scales. At the same time, they learn about significant historical events and issues confronting the world. It hopes to develop in students personal perspectives, values and attitudes in relation to geographical and historical
issues. The curriculum includes in-class teaching, fieldtrips, learning through drama, student-initiated assessments as well as mind-mapping, which was recently done with the Secondary Three students to make the teaching and learning of Social Studies fun and engaging

Humanities Timeline Challenge 2012
On 11th Jan 2012, nine Secondary 4 students represented Greendale Secondary School for the Humanities Timeline Quiz organised by the Current Affairs & Debating Society of Singapore Polytechnic.

Over a series of 100 MCQ, the teams were tested from a myriad of knowledge ranging from History of Singapore to current affairs as well as global issues. At the end of the Quiz, all three of our enthused teams were awarded certificates of participation. Good job Team Greendale!
