Bowed-strings
Plucked strings

Percussion

Description of Key Programmes in CCA:
Established in 2006, the Greendale Orchestra is made up of plucked strings, woodwinds, bowed strings and percussion. The Orchestra is led by Mr. Lim Kiong Pin, a member of the prestigious Singapore Chinese Orchestra.

Under Mr. Lim, Greendale Orchestra displays its potential in local competitions. In the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging for Chinese Orchestra in 2007, the Orchestra was awarded a Bronze. In 2009, it was awarded Silver.

Sectional and combined practices are conducted every Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. These practice sessions allow the Orchestra to perform for various school and external events organized by the Community Centre in the district.

We have successfully completed many events this year. In the March holidays, a bonding day was organized to strengthen the camaraderie between the members of different sections. We have also performed for the school’s Honours’ Day and were invited to perform for MDIS Scholarship and Bursary Awards Ceremony at Suntec City.

Under the careful guidance of its Teachers-in-charge, dedication of its members and the capable teachings of Mr. Lim, Greendale Orchestra aspire to achieve more every year!
