All who aspire to serve, create and lead are invited to join our Greendale Media Resource Library and feel pride in organising several interesting and exciting events for the whole student population. Not only will you master several skills for the running of a vibrant school library but you will also be groomed to host several events for the school and the community.

Organised Reading Passbook Activities and Award System to motivate reading among our students. 2 Continual Assessment components are planned to be incorporated with this programme for the EL department.
All Sec 2 EL teachers have been briefed to initiate Book Clubs for all Sec 2 students. Procedures and guidelines to follow have been drawn out. Multiple sets of books have been specially kept aside for this purpose.
NLB staff conducted a Reading Facilitators’ Course for all our Sec 1 and Sec 2 student librarians to prepare them for the Service Learning. They are involved in the ‘KidsRead Programme’ for the Greendale Primary School students.

6 schools participated. 2 categories of competition – one was a team category and the other was an individual category. 3 staff from Tampines Branch Library and Geylang East Library Branch were invited to be the judges for the competition.
NLB staff conducted a Book Chat for our students on 27/01/10
NLB Tampines Branch sent a mobile library to our school to cater to the reading needs of our students by providing on 03/02/10
Exhibitions are being organised by our librarians to commemorate special events – eg. Total Defence Day, International friendship Day
Quizes for students are being organised by our librarians to enhance the awareness level of our students towards special events – eg. Total Defence Day, International friendship Day
Many movies are being screened in the library to provide relaxation for our student population.
2 bonding sessions have been planned. One was conducted in Term 1 on 05/03/10
Inter-School Scrabble Competition
Many of our student librarians were involved in this event- played a role in organising the event, a team of 2 students from our school participated, one of our students clinched the 2nd prize for the individual category
